It’s really not as noisy as I thought it would be which is a bonus. Reckon it would pass most circuits except Bedford. The exhaust note is fantastic, more raw, more metallic and it sounds more like a V6 (my doris drives a SLK350) than 4 pot. Additional power is very noticeable above 5k rpm…it pulls like a complete bastard to the rev limit. Delivery is super smooth and it gives you the slight nervous feeling when your approaching 8k rpm like “Oh shit we’re definitely moving now”. I’ve now got wheelspin in 1st and 2nd although I’m pretty sure that’s the cold conditions (surface is dry outside).
I also got the powerflex engine mounts fitted and the car feels like its brand new with no rattles or noises. It transforms the handling which I certainly wasn’t expecting. Turn in is less dramatic and more smooth, planted and confidence inspiring. Feels like a totally different car to a certain extent, for the price they cost an absolute bargain.
How noisy will the 4.1 be with a de-cat into your 8*24 back box!
… ie: will it be 98DBA or less??? [/quote]
De-Cat + SC and looking to meet a drive-by noise limit is not the best idea. The 4-1 increases the pitch of the exhaust sound - that doesn’t help either. I’ve got a new design of track silencer though. The 2-eleven racers have been testing it - jfk’s getting one.

Jim
While you have mine, can you change my decat into a silenced decat as well as the other stuff?
My NA at full chat was 93-94db down the pit straight at Donny…421-decat-8" GT3. Ade’s car at Spa drove by me on the pit wall just after Will went past in mine and the noise difference was night and day, it really was proper LOUD!
