The inspiration for Benja's avatar

Yeah we had fun on the drive over, killing the bordem of sitting in traffic jams.

If I’d been slightly quicker I’d have got the actual sign to the right of the cars.

I did miss the traffic jam slalom course though.

Ian

Ahhh what fun we had, a proper Boy’s Own Adventure of a weekend

Glad you like the Avatar, I won’t be able to see that sign now without smiling

Oh and Anglesey marked the end of white wheels. I lasted a couple of years and took a lot of stick for it but I’m done. i just washed the car and laughed at the caked on PF clag coz I’m not scraping it off this time

I’m gonna get the Rimstocks refurbed and then I fancy a change so they’ll probably be for sale if anybody want a decent set. I’d like some Speedlines…must resist getting white ones

If you see any bargains or deals for speedlines Ben, let me know… I’m thinking of a set too.

I was in contact with David at Speedline Corsa at the beginning of the year so I’ve just dropped him a note to see if we could get a half decent price as I think AndyD may be after a set too. I’ll let you know…

Awesome, thanks bud.

I’ll swap you an engine for a set?!

LOL lads!

The new avatar is ace :sunglasses:

ive had 3 sets of speedlines off dave now and he still wont do any better then 1250 inc vat when i asked for a 4th set.

Who does the spacers you need to run with the Speedlines ?

Here is a quote from AndyD in a historical thread :

"The offset of the speedlines is not the same as the Rimstocks - not sure exactly how much.

In most cases and especially road use this is no problem but when you get to sticky 048 combined with “optimised” track suspension the tyres can catch the arches, the tub as well as the plastic liners on the forward edge.

So as mentioned the “fix” is a 4/5mm spacer which brings everything back to “ok” … however I dont like that solution as I found the Speedline hub centre is tapered so much that with a 4mm spacer you only engage by a very small amount if all on the hub centre. This means the forces are going more through the studs than the hub - which is not good in my book.

I took the spacers out and live with the tyres rubbing a bit"

I noticed Rob was running with a small spacer on his Speedlines at Anglesey.

Maybe some hubcentric spacers would be better? (not sure which ones Andy used above)

Bloody hell Dave - have you got x-ray eyes?
