Is is just me in thinking this forum is not what it used to be.
Too much bickering amongst people who obviously have no interest in Exiges.
It seems to me that in the past genuine Exige owners have been banned for MUCH, MUCH less than the rubbish that Simon Erland contributes with his posts.
Have our standards changed?
What is the future for this forum?
Would be nice if we could keep the chat to Exige related matters and leave the bullshit for the pub. I’m sure some Exige owners would be scared off from contributing after a quick read of the pages in here.
Never knew what it was like before, but I’ve found this a nice place to be since I’ve been here… bar the afoementioned bickering (which I believe isn’t JUST Mr Erland’s fault, although he does seem to be involved in a lot of it, by his own fault or not).
I’ll do my best to contribute to the community in a positive manner. 90%+ of people in here are GENUINE enthusiasts about their Exiges… I know that I fit that mould… dreamed of having a Lotus since I was four, LOVED my Elise like it was my first born child, and love the Exige even more for being a GENUINE junior supercar!
I hope this forum continues to be a positive place

100% correct with the above statement.
I don’t entirely agree with the contents of point 2, but in the context of this thread, that doesn’t matter, as I understand what you’re getting at.
Standards - bound to change, as more & more people are able to own, or aspire to/dream of owning an Exige, & start posting (as they are perfectly entitled to) on an “open” forum. Much as it would be nice to, the clock can’t be turned back to the time when most posters actually knew one another, & they shared a common interest in a like minded way.
Future - who knows, except it’s obvious that fewer & fewer of the old guard post here, & I suspect that will continue.
True, this forum may well have changed, even in the year and a half Ive been here, but I think anyone just needs to take a look at this thread to realise what a special place this still is…
Maybe the site needs a ‘owners only’ page. Dunno how it would work, although Mr Admin would may have to allow invited others to post also, otherwise young David (& me ) wouldn’t get a look in.
FWIW I’m tired of all the K series engine diatribe too
I don’t think there is too much to worry about. The occasional thread goes off beam but mostly it’s good natured stuff. I’m a relative newcomer (three years approx) and I have found all those I have made contact with either via the forum or via PM unfailingly helpful. Long may it continue. And for those who know the missing old stagers, perhaps they cd be prompted to start posting again.
Is there any way that the tossers bringing this place down could go and argue somewhere else? That way, the K fans could still read about it and exiges.com could get back to good old fashioned piss-taking friendly forum it used to be. I do not want to see non-owners sidelined but the shite is drowning out the banter which ultimately is not a good thing - see Elise BBS etc.
The thing is, whether they realise it or not, it only damages the K series more and more… it puts people off wanting to stick with the K and drives people to the other choices.
Everyone I have met personally on this forum has been top-class… cheers all !
It seems to me that in the past genuine Exige owners have been banned
Only one Exige owner has been banned in the past, and that was on his request. I hope that clears that up.
It’s no surprise that the original poster has started this thread, because his feelings and motives are already well established.
I’ve created the muppet forum as a dumping ground for Erland-like threads, so you can just avoid that and use the other forums as normal. As far as I can tell, it’s only the Erland/Andrews battles that people have an issue with, if there’s other issues, please let me know.
There are still plenty of very knowledgeable, fun and helpful people on this forum… but naturally it’s the squeaky wheel that gets the attention.
I haven’t received any E-mails or PMs asking me to act upon threads recently, so just drop me a PM if you want me to.
