The bleedin' obvious

Never having a removable steering wheel before so I don’t know what really is involved.

I have acquired a Momo steering wheel and horn push.

What do I have to do to fit it in conjuction with a removable hub !

I keep hearing things about a Boss kit - are they one of the same thing ?

Rapidly going up me own arse on this

You need a boss adapter to convert from the 4 bolts used to attach the Nardi wheel to the six bolts required by aftermarket wheels and the snap off removable boss.

You can get them from Eliseparts or from Elise-Shop.

Eliseparts hub adapter

Elise-Shop version

You just need to decide on the length you want, depending on how you want the wheel positioned.

Think 20mm is roughly the same as the standard wheel and then going longer brings the wheel closer to you.

What about your thoughts on this the snap off boss looks pretty neat and appears to be engineered well, better than the Eliseparts one.

Bloody 12 for a replacement set of screws to fit the steering wheel onto the removable hub !!!

Feck me

Almost everybody uses the same one that is available through eliseparts. It is also the same as the one Lotus provided in their kit. It works, easy to engage, not play once in place.

Not sure about the one you’ve found, but I’ve seen others where there they are a pain to get the wheel on, and once fitted there is play when moving from side to side.

If I didn’t go for the usual one, I’d probably look at a proper motorsport one, instead of the tuner market. Perhaps something from Spa Design.

I want to add a removal wheel but have a bloody air bag

I want to add a removal wheel but have a bloody air bag

I’d speak to lotus about how to disable the air bag warning light, as it gets expensive if you go down the route of getting the US solution. Sector 111 US quick release
