After a year of mods ( i started in April last year with getting Randy to do a CC install ) , paint, interior and other stuff the “Boyz” got my Exige back together
the car looks fantastic - saw it on Sunday when popped in to see Martin. Love the interior as well.
As ususal the boyz have done a top job - and helped me on sunday when my window popped out of the runners. Good old steve who only called in for few minutes to see Russ’s paint job had the door apart in seconds whilst martin got ready with the glue to re-fix the glass. Top stuff
Look forward to seeing it on track and thanks once again to the “boyz”
“Treasure in Racecar Ready Before the Start of the Season Shocker”
Don’t forget he’s got 3 racecars - 1 Exige & 2 Elises, & just cos they’re all painted, doesn’t mean that they’ll all be ready soon However, he will be on the grid at Donny
The glue was Plastic Padding Super Steel Epoxy. Have also used Plastic Padding Super Epoxy, with the same success. You have to work quickly because it sets rapidly and you need to make sure that you clean all to old bits of glue from the glass and clips to get a good bond, I use a brake and cluch cleaner spray to degrease the joining faces too. Your can get the plastic padding from Halfords and most diy places, can also get it on ebay.
Hope this helps,
Graham
I use an incredibly expensive 3M tape (1.40 for 1000mm x 19mm) for bonding metal (inc powered coated) to glass or plastic it is very good stuff, comes on a roll. You just have to clean both surfaces first (have that too). If you need some let me know, it’ll be no problem?
Thanks, Steve and John. Found one clip loose when i had the glass out to fit the Solaguard this week. I Sikaflexed it back on, i’ll see how long it lasts
