Temporary Rebuild

Unfortunately the 2l crank is a lovely paperweight, crack test was positive, which is almost always a bad thing.

In the meantime I decided that in order to run a 2 day gymkhana event I am quite fond of, it would be best to put together the 1.8l block just to get the car going.

I will be using:

VHPD block
Dry sump
Roller barrels
Up & over exhaust
Ported head with 1444’s ( the big valve head will be marginal with Omega’s, not willing to take the chance)

Will be quite interesting to see what the exhaust, intake and dry sump add to the equation. In any event it will be faster than the 2l right now, especially since there are 4 rods attached to the crank

Yesterday we assembled the motor:

Still got to the ancillaries and gearbox today then I can fit it. Will keep updating. Nice to work on a clean motor.

Come on Jason, we want pictures of the carnage!!
