has anyone made or know where to look for a template of the 3 cut outs over each front wheel arch or…is it make me own time?
What 3 cut outs?
the ones above the front wheel…[image]http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/5610/jq3q027101ps5.jpg[/image]
That’s not standard and I’ve not seen anyone who’s done it on an Exige. You could just open up the ones behind the wheel arch.
What’s the reason for wanting wheel arch exit holes anyway?
did TVR not block them on the production sagaris as the protypes kept getting cracked screens from stones that were beig thrown up ?
Yes. Probably because TVR engineers couldn’t think of anything as clever as sticking some wire mesh in there to stop the stones
I think it’s make your own time.
Three straight slots (with radiused ends) each shorter than the next. Line one edge up and jobs a good un.
Put you stiff card template on the bodywork and mark with a fine permanent marker. Remove template and do same on other side.
Chain drill the slots out AFTER you’ve protected the surrounding bodywork with gaffer/duct tape etc. Get out your dremel mini drill with a sanding drum attached and CAREFULLY take the GRP away to your line (the straight edges will be better if you tape an old steel rule to sand up to).
With that job done you’ll need to glass in some grilles and make corresponding holes in the wheel arch liner. the last thing you need to do is make a short tunnel so the air pressure (this is the reason for these holes) and any water/crud/stones etc go DIRECTLY to the slots and not allowed to fill the clam. Let me know how you do that bit…there’s a good chap

Hmmm, dremel / sander + GRP.
Dust mask and eye protection, me thinks !
I’m sure this was discussed a long time ago and someone who had done it said that it significantly weakened the clam so that when they put their hand on the wing, it cracked. Could be imagining it though.
If it had been an S2, Reverie are now doing positive louvre panels.

I thought it was cosmetic, the rain came out of them and made the car look shocking.
