Taking Front Clam Off

Hi all, I’m about to take the front clam off to fit the braided hoses and paint the towing eye mount.

Should I be doing anything else while its off???

(no comments about fitting Ohlins Sean )

Is there anything I need to seal up/pack to try and stop the heat spreading through various voids etc???

ta

Simon

Yes, sealing the holes in the front firewall.

You can also pull the oil cooler hoses as far as they can go and cover them with thermal tape, as air passing through the sill on its way into the cabin through the dash get heated up by the hot hoses.
Then push them back as they were before.

Also, if you have more time, change the oil cooler as per Sea’B’s modification. It really heps to keep the oil under 105degC, most of the time under 100.
But to do this mod appropriately you should aslo change the undertray to an Elise one, without the holes.

thanks Uldis.

I am also getting an Icy blast on the feet so I suspect some air hose has fallen off somewhere

cheers

I’m going to do the hoses on my S2. Is taking the clam off fairly straight forward?

I found a good S2 clam removal guide here which you might find useful-
