Tailpipe heat radiating to clam

Following from a couple of comments on the ‘new exhaust’ thread I thought I’d ask for people’s experience with radiated heat to the clam from the tailpipe. The clam is certainly warm after a spirited drive but I’m worried about paint blistering at track day temps. The picture shows about 16mm gap at it’s nearest.

mine does get warm but no more, biggest problem is the yellow staining on the back of the car, not sure why it does it, anyone able to explain?

Put a strip of gold foil tape under the pipe… The yellow staining is exhaust backwash… Simple Green and a sponge and it’s gone.

Does your car run on tobacco?

I thought it was everyone catching up and pi$$ing all over you
