Tacho acting strange after Emerald fitment?

I’m experiencing some strange tacho readings on overun when i lift off the throttle the tacho needle drops rapidly between 2-3500rpm before returning to the correct rpm. Does anybody have an idea why this occurs please? Thanks in anticipation.

How does the tacho signal work? Is it a pulse straight off the Emerald? If it’s a pulse from the engine, it could be a loose connection being exposed when the engine rocks back forward on its mounts when you back off?
