Has anyone re-located their Exige intercooler as per the 211 install! Looks great!
I really like the idea of the induction coming from both side air intakes… I reckon that would be much cooler than the air injested in our roof mounted scoop… especially the extended ‘Cup’ roof scoop that surely is just lapping up hot air from the radiator!
I wonder if it would fit in the ‘boot’ area like the 211. Would also be great to get all that weight down lower too!
Piccy from LotusForums shows the general idea! Cool.
Two things I would think put me off. The longer plumbing resulting in poor throttle response and the massive amount of heat given off by the exhaust manifold!
Lazante motorsport/newey/redbull car was like that!!!
Well sort of like that but the cooler was about 4 times the size with a massive scoop over the engine to stop the heat and get the airflow…

There was soooo much more to it than that. Roof scoop doubled in depth by running it through the shortened windscreen upper edge, airflow through the inverted tunnel under the roof, deflector panel on the rad outelt to avoid collecting hot air from the rads, the list goes on!!

Dean Lanzante told me that in there tests for the GT3 car that air from the side scoops is a bit warmer than the roof scoop .
I have air ducted from both the side scoops and the roof scoop with a heatshield under the intercooler .
Hey, that looks like my engine bay!
Paul , have you been copying me?
(Although I stuck with the MMG ali shroud, I see you’ve used the RLS carbon one)
And you kept the OE boot stay, I’ve got the RLS one as I believe your I/C is a row shorter than mine. You’ll never get really low temps now mate.
LoL, Hows yours going , any testing done with the intercooler yet ? i cant wait for the summer to get some hot day IAT data to see if the months of heartache was worth it.
As you can perhaps tell from the other thread, it’s hanging out over my pit ( which is the nuts by the way), drained of oil and awaiting me to summon up the strength to wrestle with the old oil sump.(and change the pulley and the gearbox oil!)
Great so your garage is done then ? i was going to fit this lil lot this weekend but the GF has other plans , im just going to book it in to JSR and have them do it.

Very shiny, if you don’t get round to fitting them, I’ll give you a tenner
Ps Yes the garage is working. The Elan and the old fiat 500 are still in a barn, hoping to bring them back this weekend. I’ll post a few pics in good time. The Epoxy floor paint is fantastic.
Having a pit makes a massive difference. Swapping the engine mounts took not much more than half an hour, draining the oil is now a pleasure rather than a damage limitation exercise, etc.
PPS Apologies for thread hijack
