I’ve just put a Jackson on the Honda engine and now need to upgrade the insurance. I only do limited miles 5,000 per year max
Any one know of any cost effective fully comp policies. I was paying 470/year and awaiting revised quote but would be helpfull to know the going rate.
I am with Competition Car Insurance but I reckon <500 pa n/a is pretty good value - who are you with?
I’m with Heritage - 750 with track day cover for LOT events
The extra premium over a NA or even a K series 190 was only about 10-15%
Swintons are the brokers and Chaucer the insurance company
Andy,
Is that a limited miles policy and if so how many miles.
Cheers

Finally got my Chaucer policy through A plan. Fully comp protected no claims discount 5,000 miles limit. 535 for the year. They wouldn’t do fixed value though.

Trackday cover?
Trackday cover is excluded. I assumed that needed to be insured separately.

You can insure trackays seperately (although there are very few insurers), but it’s much better to get a road policy which includes it, cos it ain’t cheap. For example, as my road policy doesn’t cover trackdays outside the UK, I took out 26K cover with CCI for a day at Le Mans Bugatti this July. The premium was 289, & there was a 2600 excess. Therefore if I’d written it off, I’d have only collected 23400.
I paid c800 with Chirs Knott N/A
Now pay 1300 (S/C) with Heritige (with breakdown and track cover with club TDO’s).
CCI were a similar price but no breakdown cover IIRC.

Hmm sore point with me… I got dropped by Alliance (via Autotorque) after fitting the SC Honda despite me telling them BEFORE that I would fit it… and the cheeky feckers still charged me cancelation fee.
Then I get quotes of 1200-1300 as my NCB is used elsewhere (alliance policy is future-classic so no NCB used)
Finally some sense with CCI… 650 and a few free trackdays thrown in.
I hate insurance companies
