Sunny afternoon drive and a good read

Inspired by our new S1 owner dris, I took the Exige out for a run this afternoon and enjoyed a short but brisk trip to clear out the cobwebs.
Back home, I’d forgotten that I’d hidden one of my purchases from the Lotus show in the car (Spark model of Pesky’s favourite, the GT1) and a booklet from Classic Team Lotus.
The free booklet is a mine of information, colourfully and concisely presented so that when the memory fades you can turn to it and recall races, drivers, cars etc. I’m surprised I’ve never seen one before.
I also picked up “Remembering Elio” at the show for £8 on the Club Lotus stand rather than for the £25 being charged by the publishers across the hall.
I managed to squeeze this on to the bookshelf on my return home without Mrs Thommo noticing. The GT1 has just been positioned alongside Elio… I wonder how long it will be before she asks me where it came from and how much it cost? We don’t do a lot of dusting so I reckon I’ve got a few weeks’ grace!

Nice one Steve, who wrote the Elio book?

I personally found fook all worth buying :frowning:

Written by Lorrie Coffey. Not had chance to read it cover to cover. It’s quite arty but had the blessing of the deAngelis family and had some good reviews on publication. To be fair, my copy has an 8 quid sticker on the front which may prove difficult to remove and no hard sleeve that comes with the publisher’s “last two” copies.

Made my day to get a bargain, so the saving I made eased the pain of the £40 GT1.
