Would a Toyota subframe fit a S2 K series chassis and suspension? just wondering as it might make an Audi conversion easier?
Hi Ade
I have JDS here at the moment.
The answer put politely is no.

The longer version was don’t be a gentleman’s sausage…

You ol’ saveloy.
just weighing up options, but that doesn’t work…
it might have been a simple swap for a good reason, as it is not, I’ll scrap the idea…
Yeah chassis are totally different, zero chance of it fitting.
Does anyone know the specific size difference of the engine bay between the two chassis
Following up on this to feed the rampant speculation that’s going on in my head about what to do next.
Roughly what is the weight difference between an early S2 elise tub and subframe, versus the later Toyota one?
Clearly the Toyota cars are heavier due to additions like ABS, Servo, etc, but if all that was discounted and it was a bare build from the ground up how big is the penalty in starting from the Toyota setup?
The Toyota setup offers you a lot more room in the engine bay mate. I have no clue on weight differences, I bet it’s not that much.
