I was refitting my drivers seat after fitting harnesses and have inadvertently stripped the thread in the chassis crossmember that the allen bolt for the seat rail goes into. This is the one for the front left corner of the driver’s seat.
What is the best remedy, please?
I maybe wrong 'cos I’m about 700 miles from my Exige … but I think those threads are just rivit nuts …
If so you can get it replaced quite easy by drilling the old one out and having a new one “rivited” in …
I think your best bet is to simply replace the chassis

Actually, it turned out to be an easy fix. I bought a tap and die set, and was able to tap out the M8 hole as good as new, and the original bolt fits snugly and is just as strong as new.
I could not have bought the new chassis, cos I could never get the wheel arch liners off anyway!!!
