Stripes question.

After seeing the stripes on Gavs car just thought I might try some on mine, just wondering though if theres any problems fixing them or removing them if it looks crap?

And does anyone know where I can get a set of (chrome) Orange ones for my S1 Exige?

(Tim Marra holds holds head in disgust).

slight hijack, but has anyone striped a silver S2 exige? What colours would you use?

marc.

Haven’t but I’d go black.

Julian, they do take time to put on and the three main problems are doing surfaces that have curves in two planes (hard to keep straight) and also trimming (whch is almost impossible to do on the car without marking the paint with your knife) and bubbles. Saying that mine arnt perfect but do the job from a distance.
As for removing, a hair dryer makes life easier and then somthing to get the bits of glue off with.
I got my vinyl off ebay (150mm), the lotus ones are wider, however any graphics place should have the stuff just make sure it has the backing stuf on both sides.

Osmond, ive done stripes as per the first gt3 car, two broard yellow stripes with two thin black stripes.

Cheers Gav!

A contrasting silver would look good, say titanium or gumetal

Tim.

Have a search over at elisealk. There’s several of photos of silver with stripes there - IMHO, gunmetal usually looks best.
