Stolen Van !!!!!

Woke up Friday morning planning to travel up to Snetterton for race weekend to find my van had been stolen from outside the house. Thiefs had broken in thorough the conservatory doors while my wife and I were asleep upstairs found the van keys which were on the kitched table and made of with the van

Along with the �15k’s worth of windsurfing kit inside there was also a lot of tools and bits and pieces to do with the Lotus. Three 20 litre jerry cans full of fuel and green outdoor car cover for the Exige. The cover is quite distinctive it is green but has some patchwork on rear nearside corner

The tool chest is very distinctive, it is red with white MAC TOOLS stenciled across the front draws. Draw configuration is 9 small draws across the top 3 rows (3x3) and then 3 full length draws below.

Van is a white Vivaro 2900, did have Rat Rig stickers in blue on side and also animal from the muppets figure hanging from the rear view mirror. Also had electric windows, AC and factory fitted tow bar Was spotted on motorway cameras junction 4a M5 at 5.47am Friday morning, so disappearing off into Birmingham

The penalties when caught are too light …Makes this sort of thing a good earner for the scum , as long as they don’t use violence the Judge usually suspends sentence .
Theft these days is seen as acceptable , Police are rarely involved in pursuing all but the organised gangs …
Same as shoplifting is “accepted” as a byproduct of retail …

This is what our ‘traffic’ police should be dealing with instead of trapping innocent motorists. They should also apportion blame at all RTA and make the guilty party, or his insurers pay, fine them and endorse their licences - it might encourage people to avoid having accidents rather than watch their speedos and drive into someone while they’re not looking. It would be a fair and equitable way to generate income to enable our ‘traffic’ police to actually police the criminals and not the innocent motorist. End of rant.

Mike, the police will look for a prosecution at any accident, however minor. More so if one of their own is involved and needs defending :angry:
