Thanks Tim,
Silver unfortunately for me, have my heart set on alternate colours having seen Exige in most hues just set on which I d like. I ve viewed them both previously though the cheaper must be the lowest spec car in existance but good shape and unmolested and very original. The other right spec but must of had a respray as not a badge (Lotus/Exige) on it which put me off…I m sure its nothing but left me questioning why.
But ultimately colour…
There’s this S1 on autotrader… Its quite dark blue…

Surely you cant a nicer colour than this.
David
No it is stunning - its just got standard seats in cream and quite a low spec - however the price is anything but low spec (!) so doesnt leave much for locating the parts to get the car Id want…If it was cheaper I d jump at it I think its really overpriced considering others that are available…
Keep looking at that picture it is georgous…

I, like you, wanted specific colours but in the end, bought on condition, as I found one, as Tim will tell you, which was absolutely first class but not in my first choice colour!
I had looked a a few in my favourite colours which were ropey so chose this A1 example instead!
So in my view condition comes before colour, anyone else agree?

Totally agree. TBH the car looks fab in any colour, & there are a limited number that will ever come up for sale. Crash damage (esp chassis) is the most important thing to be worried about - everything else can be sorted.
P.S. And the car I eventually bought had nearly every conceivable mod all done at the factory and a history with matching paperwork and reciepts that were second to none and in my view no matter how long I looked I wasnt going to find a better one in as good condition with all of the right mods in any colour…so I bought it and even better, Tim the first owner, still posts on here and still tells me things about ‘his’ car that I dont know about and Glenn, the second owner who lives a few miles away, has become a very good friend and always shows a keen interest in ‘his’ car!
So although I paid top whack, as the saying goes…you get what you pay for!
Good luck though and keep us posted!
I have a car in mind I just wanted one last post incase anyone is still thinking of selling - one last role of the dice before commiting!
But I agree the right car outweighs all else

Come on then…spill the beans!!
Silver S1 still up for grabs - 4.5 K miles, stored last 2 years, immaculate …
