sticky throttle cable or TB problem???

hi folks

over last few months of infrequent use, but more annoyingly still the same now im using it more

i am getting revs sticking at 2 to 2,2k on idle at rest, at junctions, etc.

it feels like throttle cable (2006 exige, but pre-drive by wire change) is sticking.

if i blip throttle at rest revs fall to 1.1 to 1.2k, but return to 2k at next stop.

its no biggy, just a bit annoying.

any suggestions for lubricating throttle cable, i’ve tried from engine bay, but clearly this doesnt go far.

at last service mike at SSS suggested it may be sticky flap on TB, but i’ve cleaned out and carburettor sprayed and little change.
he thought it might be worn pivot on flap?

new TB is i believe 400 ish on yota exige, is this correct??? hope not.

cheers

I’d suspect the cable. If you release it from the TB and the pedal then you should be able to get some lubricant into it from both ends. We did this with mine and it was much better, although it will need doing again.

Think the TB will be more than that, know that the DTW one certainly is.
