Sticking throttle

I know this is well covered ground here but just want to make sure I have the right end of the stick.

The revs stick when dipping the throttle and also idles high- around 2k-2.5k.
Ive checked the vacuum pipes and they seem fine, I had to replace them all a year ago due to the same problem.

What else is there to check? TPS, Wheel speed sensor?

Jon

I had a slightly frayed throttle cable - so throttle was unable to fully return. The TB linkage can also get rather gunged up…

Have you checked that the IACV pipes under the TBs are fully secure?

Hope you get it sorted…

Mine used to do that (still probably would if it was still in one piece).

Used to idle high when cold but drop down when warm… but then started doing it when warm too… mind you it was poked inside.

Tried unplugging TPS which dipped the revs but it went back to 2k idle. Cleaned the Speed sensor up too but still idles high slightly lower.

Throttle cable is 100%

Next step IACV? All pipes to and from the IACV seem fine.

Okay, still idling at 2k rpm, I unplugged injectors 2&3 and the idle stays the same, unplug 1 or 4 and it drops to 1k rpm.
Any ideas?
Could it be Coilpack? the leads are new Magnecor.

Just taken for a quick blast and the rev limier is kikcing it at 5.5k rpm intermittantly, guess its the wheel speed sensor then!

It has been replaced not all that long ago and I took it out and cleaned it 2 days ago.

Phil mine was doing the same had to solder the cable back together as it had split.

The speed sensor? Am I right in saying that its the one in the Offside rear wheel and the stack sensor is in the Nearside rear wheel.

Not had time to look at it today, hopefully will tomorrow

Anyone have anymore ideas on this? Injectors not doing anything to the idle is confusing me.

Inlet manifold gasket had collapsed, leaking on cylinder 2 and 3.
