Stick this up yer 355 F1 Tailpipe !!

I’ve been out playing…
Here’s a pic of my readings from the Kiwi/Torque software…

My Exige…
0-60 = 4.0s
1/4 mile =12.6s

For comparison a Ferrarri 355 F1…
0-60 mph 4.6s
0-1/4 mile 13s

And I had cold tyres!!!
I reckon a further 1/2 second could be achieved with a better surface and warm tyres as traction was limiting the launch …

Pushing off a cliff does not count mate.

What’s the 0-100? Quarter mile is for yanks

Yeah but which sounded the best

Had a 355 F1 for a while - just loved the sound

How much power are you running?

I managed 12.2 1/4 last year at york raceway, but that was on a STD clutch and the charge cooler was pretty heat soaked with the waiting around. Might download the iPhone software and give it a go.

acceleration of lotus with electric engine 24v :) - YouTube

0-62mph in 3.3 secs, 0-124mph in 10.2

Ain’t got the software for that one m8 …

Power is around the 305 mark I reckon with the 2.9 pulley …
Traction was the limiting factor today. I have a comp clutch and an LSD but it was difficult to stop lighting up the tyres .
A stickier surface with warmer tyres might see a 3.5 0-60 and maybe a 12.1 quarter mile …
All for fun
Ps the calculated HP is a tad high cos I’ve set the weight as with a passenger and half a tank of fuel at 1125 kg

When did phone GPS software suddenly become reliable for performance figures?

Have I missed something Blacktoy ?
Who has said it was ?
If you read my last post it says “all for fun”
Of course you are right I’m sure … the real figure is probably better

Didn’t say it was inaccurate, just interested in how far GPS software has come for monitoring acceleration figures. Its a lot cheaper than spending 300 notes on a VBOX.

With 305bhp & 200lb/ft I would expect low 4’s to 60 and low 9’s to 100. As you say traction is the biggest limitation, maybe fit wider rear tyres?

Good work jfk, got my cheapo fleabay OBD reader and torque today so hopefully will be doing somthing similar soon

^^^ excellento ^^^
The paid version is definitely worth buying over the free one .

Good post John, its all a bit of fun.
I used my VI monitor when my car was standard, it was wet and i was on 48’s, I managed 4.6 0-60, and only did one run.
Still got the graph somewhere.

Its not as good as i expected tbh, did one run and managed 4.9s to 60 and 177bhp?? not really sure how accurate the bhp is but i think the 60 time isnt far away, would prolly take a bit off with a better start and 2n change but never less than 4s, intetested how you got the photo as it dosnt save any data and mine actually crashed :S

Lol … drive it down a steep hill for better times !!
Only kidding  the launch is critical , 15% slip through the tyres is the ideal …wheelspin costs loads of time … takes practice …
Re the bhp , have you input the correct weight for the car in the setup ?
Re the photo , I just took a pic of my phones screen with a camera …

4.9 ain’t bad anyhow …the times Lotus state for a standard 220 are optimistic and probably require a good surface , warm tyres and their factory test driver …
Don’t forget the 4.0 I got is running close to 300 bhp …

Disclaimer : all this is just for fun and the equipment isn’t up to industry testing standard …Before some clever so and so chimes in !!

Well i did it on a flat main road, just stopped in the middle so couldnt mess about hah :stuck_out_tongue: dunno what the actual weight is i think i put somthing like 965? Mines not a standard 220 anymore, not remaped but chargecooler 2bular air filter n stuff, published performace times are always optimistic  so i think i didnt do too bad, im sure there must be a way to take screenshots like you can on the iphone, cant carry a camera with me lol ":stuck_out_tongue:
