How do you guys remove the upper bolt inside of the car. The one with the 17mm head. Do i really need to grind down a socket to fit into that narrow gap between bolt and bracket or is there another way?
You shouldn’t have to. A Halfords 17mm 3/8 socket fits fine. Take off the rubber bits either side of the bracket first though.
Yep I’ve just done that, the edging strip should pull or at least cut off.
The strip was the first thing i started with, but it just doesn’t fit. Maybe my socket is too beefy for that. I’ll look for one that might be thinner now that i know that it must work. Thanks!
So i acquired a narrower socket from Würth and i still had to give it a few smacks with a light hammer to slide in between the bolt and bracket.
Good news is: i got it loose. Thanks
