Stage 3 fitting issue

[font:Verdana]Hi just fitted my stage 3 on an exige s, center oval tip appears to lean to the right at an angle. Wondered if anyone else had this, I cant see how it can be how its fitted because it hangs off two hangers and can only sway back and forth which would make it stick out more or less, either way it would still lean to the right.

I did question this when I bought it because if you hold it by the hangers the tip does not appear to point straight. This would explain the dodgy fit?

still sounds good, although cant hear this magical second cam change noise. [/font]

Sounds like poor build quality, also the cam change is not very noticeable on an S only on N/A cars as the supercharger smooths the power delivery

Bending the hangers can help with this, you might find they already are, there is generally enough to make them fit properly, they just need to be convinced

Man vs exhaust, man wins

Used a grate outside and bent it !

how do you find the stage 3?

Love it, sounds like cannon fire behind you, better than a larini I had a few years ago on an elise.

Although now worried its not uk road legal, seems a grey area

As far as I’m aware there is no actual noise limit for the UK roads think about how loud a Harley/TVR/Lambo with open pipes is it makes a lotus with a stage 3 seem quite

Very true but this is from the lotus brochure…

If an item is marked * it is for TRACK USE ONLY. This equipment is intended for use on private property tracks only and is not suitable for use on the public highways. Use of the equipment on the public highway may constitute a criminal offence. Accordingly, the purchaser of the equipment and all users of the equipment must ensure that it is not used on any public highway. Customers are responsible for ensuring that their cars comply with all relevant road, track and or race regulations at all times.

A lot of lotus dealers fit these exhausts to customers car pre delivery, knowing full well they are immediately going to be driven on the road, I know what they say in the brochure, but I don’t know what would make it illegal other than noise, and its worth emphasizing the word MAY aswell, good luck making a decision

Mass has one on his exige and he tracks it - i would have thought he’d be in trouble with the noise limits?

The police can’t read the printing when it is fitted to the car

Sorry that was clumsy so I corrected myself

2006 S … With Lotus Stage 3 for last 2 years …
It can be made to pop and bang if required
On the other hand it’s possible to keep it quiet when needed.
Still got the cat on mine … No problems when noise checked at Oulton and Snetteton…

Passes my friendly MOT testers listen test …
Also what copper is going to dismantle your car to read “track use only” ??
Be polite to them if pulled and you will be fine …They have a job to do , and , if you are friendly towards them they will more than likely be friendly back…

Get a lotus stage 3 … it’s great!!
