Whizzed the car out today, first time since Jan, to get new tax. 205! It’s outrageous, given that I am limited to 5,000 miles a year by insurance.I hestitate to say it but should road tax not be abandoned and tax instead applied to fuel?
Thought it was already.
Had this discussion the other day, apparently its not far to people who have to travel and don’t have access to public transport.
but as you say, why should I pay the same tax for my 4k miles when Mr RepMan is paying the same to do 25k?
Come on guys!!!
220 a year to get the amount of driving enjoyment and smiles per miles out of our cars is hardly excessive, especially considering we probably all spend a lot more than that on mods ecery year, AND a lot of our cars kick out about 9,000,000 gm/C02/km… especially on track days!!!
Had mine our today too, I agree the tax is a bit harsh for limited miles.
