The problem with the standard Rimstocks is getting a balance, the Speedlines I have only have a few weights on them while all my ( 8 ) Rimstocks have a tonne of weights on them …
Andy have you tried moving the red and yellow dots around on the rim?

Oh yes …
I think the problem is they are not really round and each one is quite different. Actually by not round I mean the centre hub appears offset from the true centre, so when you put them on a balance machine it bobs up and down, I have one rear that is quite bad for that.
My local tyre fitter who I’ve been going to few years told me they were the worse wheels I had ever come to him with … And he has had some difficult ones before…
Yuo really do have to move the tyres around and stuff to get a perfect balance, any “normal” fitter would not get them right, both my sets are similar.
The Speedlines are different in that they take only one or two takes to get perfect.
So …
After all that does anyone want any standard Rimstock or Speedline wheels ?
I have two sets of Rimstocks and one set Speedlines and I only need one set for future …
Just PM me
speedline gave refunds to everyone that wanted it from the last batch of wheels. They have had the moulds for the wheels replaced so are making a new set now. im expecting 2 sets this month from speedline and they said they will still be the same price of the last set, 1250 a set. So if anyone wants a new set of speedlines get in touch with them now as i think they only plan to make 10 sets on this run and they dont do a run of them very often and im having 2 sets out of tht 10 there making. I think they look better than the tmr’s but i dont race my car so the weight of the wheel makes no odd’s to me.
Does anyone know if the genuine Speedline wheels are as wide as the S1 Exige Rimstock alloys ? I know that the S2 alloys are definitely narrower on the rear but not sure about the speedlines; although i do remember reading somewhere that some people used thin spacers for the rears !!
The offset of the speedlines is not the same as the Rimstocks - not sure exactly how much.
In most cases and especially road use this is no problem but when you get to sticky 048 combined with “optimised” track suspension the tyres can catch the arches, the tub as well as the plastic liners on the forward edge.
So as mentioned the “fix” is a 4/5mm spacer which brings everything back to “ok” … however I dont like that solution as I found the Speedline hub centre is tapered so much that with a 4mm spacer you only engage by a very small amount if all on the hub centre. This means the forces are going more through the studs than the hub - which is not good in my book.
I took the spacers out and live with the tyres rubbing a bit
Jees …
How hard can it be to sell some wheels

See…now if you had some TMR’s to sell I’d be on the phone now !
