Iv just purchased an S2 Exige (picking up on thursday )and am slightly concerned about the ground clearance or more specifically getting over the rather viscious speedhumps that I have to get over to get to my house. Is the car relatively speedhump friendly or have people had issues?! Im worried that il drive it the 120 miles back from the dealer and ground out badly or tear off the front splitter etc when I turn into my road?! Could always move house I guess…
Never had a problem- you want to be going slowly anyway as you would probably knock all your teeth out!! Never so much as scraped a speed bump. If you do, you’re either going too fast, you’re car’s been lowered or the speedbump is an illegal height.
How do you cope with those fecking humps in Jesmond, the place is full of them, they worry me?
Havent seen you around, would love to see your Exige sometime, maybe we could meet up with Big Cheese and Naths 340R?
Ive got a cunning route that means I only have to go over one to get to my house…the ramp up onto the drive leaves about 5mm clearance between No. plate and road which is a little scary.
Yeah definitly up for a meet. Ive spoken to nath about a meet recently.
Fancy something this weekend…weather looks like its going to be good??
I find that lumps can be negiotiated okay apart from when when they’re more of the sleeping policeman variety. If you take it gently it will scrape and make a herrendous noise but results in not lasting visible damage. The most embarresing ones are in Stoney Stratford High Street. 3 bumps in a row, very narrow road, lots of people. It certainly gets everyones attention!!
Try and keep a spare ebay splitter in the garage…! They’re a 5 minute job to swap.
