Spare VHPD storage

I now have a spare VHPD.
So my questions are as follows:
How best to store the motor?
Do I drain the original oil, re-fill and replace the filter?
Do I pour oil in through inlet/exhaust ports to keep all well lubed?
I can’t find any “bungs” to fill inlet and exhaust ports, despite numerous inquiries Anyone any ideas, apart from old rags?I fancied those plastic thingies, often red, you see on new race engines but have been unable to source any.
Someone suggested that I should also re-fill with anti-freeze or is that just plain daft?
I plan to settle engine down on a small pallet after an external clean-up, pack round with bubble wrap and cling film to keep dry in garage .
I’d be grateful for any comments or observations.

Just let Simon store it mate!

Simples…

…And I am sure he would cut you in on the profit when he sells it too!

I thought SimonE was looking after all the spare ones?

I’m not trying to muscle in on the market, one’s enough for me.

I always get the red caps/plugs from Think:-

ThinkAuto

Better to get them on the back of other orders because the trouble is buying them on their own is that the postage will cost far more than the parts!

Blimey how did I miss this one? :astonished:

I squirt a little WD40 into the bores and cam cover every 3/4 months and just gently turn the engine (plugs out) half a revolution. Keep inlet and exhaust ports sealed and keep in a dryish environment

2 of them are in bits though at the moment

The only way to treat a woman!

New investment tip - pork bellies and orange juice

DVA told me to put tea bags down the ports!

That DVA and his teabagging…

Duct tape does the job for me(sealing the inlet/exhaust ports) …any left over can be used to cure the S1 YIP .
IE. tape over the mouth of STMBO

Hi Clive

Are you back safe & sound in the UK now?
