We both drove the 260 around Spa yesterday (Gold track - trackday) the car truely is awesome and what a circuit brilliant one of the best days of my life, we went with the Noble (Pistonheads) lads. Unfortunately can’t upload any pic’s company computer!
Think a couple of friends of mine where there yesterday, a Noble and a CSL. He tells me a white Porsche GT2 binned it in to the barriers.
I love Spa, it is truely awesome!!!
i’ll second that pet, going up the hill at over 150mph
cant wait for the next time with the new engine and goodies
Casualties from Spa this week
the only thing those old beetles are good for is drag racing.
Nasty…shame
nice comment.
Darryl, were you driving the track clubs Black Cup 260? I was there in the grey lotus with the big, huuuge wing!
Mike, there were also many “beetles” that were well driven and very quick. Unlike the Lambo SV.
Hi Rishie,
We were in our Orange 260, you’ve got me going to the photo’s now to look for your Grey Lotus. We did speak to the guys at track club who were very helpful especially with tyre pressures!
Although we are both novice’s (less than 10 track days between us) we thought we held our own against the Lambo’s and some of the Porkies even with their striaght line speed advantage.
Mike, the GT2 had his incident at the start of the pit striaght, we had a quick look when it was dropped off at the (holding area?) at the end of the pits, not sure how much damage you need to do before the insurance write the car off but it looked pretty bad under the front bonnet.
Tyre pressures? Gulp.
I checked mine once all day after a hot session and left it at that. If you find any decent pics, let me know. Most of the usual suspects didn’t have anything worth the effort.
I think that GT2 was a write-off; don’t think any insurance company will be fixing that. Really surprising tat he crashed as heavily as he did where he did. Poor person, it must be horrible to crash your pride and joy.
Rishie,
We went to Spa via the Nurburgring and assumed that the pressure was set for normal road driving by the dealer following it’s 1000M service the weekend before; once we released a couple of lb’s in each tyre we dident check during the day
Deffo not nice seeing someones pride and joy take such a hit
