best track in the world, i dont know why people hype the N’ring so much its not a patch on Spa…
I totally agree!!!
Not worried about driving fast round N’ring just want to drive round it once to tick the box to say I have done that, I love Spa and wish I could afford to go more than once a year…
.
Totally disagree ;O) … each to their own. Spa is awesome, but the ring is better to me.
Not been to Spa yet but i do like my yearly pilgrimage to the Ring, although every year it seems to get more expensive and less time open.
Just like all the tracks are there noise limits there?
Yes, but they only test you if you sound loud in the car park, so don’t rev it.
just to expand - and clearly only my view, Spa is a fantastic track in anyones book, fantastic fast sections with amazing change of gradients etc. genuinely testing and exhilerating and fundementally it is a track so you can drive at 9 or 10 10th’s because run offs and room for error exists, and being a normal GP lap distance you can learn and improve all the time, lap after lap.
The Ring is an amazing “experience” but its a **cking nightmare in terms of bikers cutting you up, coming round blind corners at full chat and there being a tour bus or similar in front of you, and I think unless your really at the top of your game as a driver you can never allow yourself to drive past 7-8 10th because so little margin for error exists. And being so long you need to live there to ever really get to know it and give it the drive it needs.
That said staying at the Tiergarten only makes it more brilliant, as do the roads for the last 20-30 miles before you get there. Where as Spa is dull as hell!
