Left car out in driveway last night, not my fault as the wife went shopping in an Ann Summers shop yesterday and I was distracted last night so I forgot to put car away.
Anyway it rained heavily last night, so today the car wouldnt start.
Sprayed all electrics with WD40 - even if it looked as if it should have had a wire coming out of it, it got sprayed.
Did the reset the ecu thing.
Left car alone in case it was flooded with petrol.
Put battery on charge
Pressed leads on spark plugs and ‘distributor’
Checked fuses
Sprayed more WD40
Finally put some more petrol in it - that worked!!!
Outlet on the fuel tank must be at front of tank because car on up hill slope and fuel must not have been getting to the tank outlet - a bit more fuel in tank and it reached the tank outlet. The noise the fuel pump was making should have given the game away, but it didnt. Fuel gauge hadnt been showing refill for long so discounted it initially.
Another one to look for if you are parked pointing uphill with low fuel – even after 4 1/2 years and 60,000 miles I can still learn!!

That must be the quote of 2006 - well done Tone
Thank you know know who, you weren’t posting about a wireless not working quite to your hearing’s taste, or some fooking else or major importance

Been sniffing the barmaids apron by any chance Rob
Nah, them catalogues are too heavy to pick up nowadays, so have to make do with “People’s Friend”, or if I’m lucky, Martin slips me his “well used” editions of “Titbits”
I then pass the latter on to Russ, cos that’s the nearest he ever gets to being racy
PS You must ask to see his latest T shirt - acquired at Donington on Saturday
