Keyhole surgery sounds like the solution - use a magnet to move it to the hole and then drop in some superglue to hold it in situ. A suitable blanking plug to fill the hole afterwards.
I’m not sure what is mounted there but could it be something like the back of rivet that has broken off?
It sounds pretty big, i’m missing a screwdriver bit from my socket set, but that’s about the size of 15mm socket. It sounds about the right size, but god knows how it can have got in there.
The only holes i’ve seen so far are for the bolts that secure the seats, but given they had bolts in, and are pretty small i don’t think anything could have fallen in there. I might have to ask round and see if anyone has a borescope i can use…
If you drill a small hole you could try injecting that expanding foam stuff which then sets, trapping the item, and weighing next to nothing…
Hey presto, no rattle, and only a tiny hole, which you could make tidy with a little self tapper, perhaps???
