I am looking for a new solenoid for my oem spare starter motor
Rover 26835F Magneti Marelli NAD 10050:
The problem is that the spare parts available here have a 6.3 mm faston connection
instead of the 9.5 mm of the original part
and I would prefer not to mess up the original wire looming.
Any idea where to find a suitable spare part?
Thank you for the help!

A faston adapter from 6.3 female to 9.3 mm male would eventually do the job too
What about a short linking wire with a 9.5mm male at one end and a 6.3mm female at the other?
Fit it to your spare solenoid and secure with adhesive-lined heatshrink. Then the spare is a straight swap with no alterations to the original harness.
Could be an option, indeed.
Thank you
the problem still is that I can’t find a male faston connector with a width of 9.3 mm…
Any suggestion?
Thank you
9.3mm or 9.5mm? In your original post you said 9.5mm…
Try searching for Lucar or spade connector, which are the same thing as Faston.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find a Lucar 9.5 male connector…
Any idea where to buy one?
Thank you
Not the easiest to find, but Farnell list them:
AMP - TE CONNECTIVITY 280075-2
There is a minimum order quantity of 10, but at 37p each…
Ignore the picture on Farnell’s website, BTW.
Try also the manufacturer’s website as they may send you a one-off sample.
To cut a long story short, I decided to remove the cap of the broken solenoid with the 9.5 mm
spade connector and install it on the new spare electromagnet.
A little bit tricky, but makeable.
Tomorrow it will be checked and hopefully the problem is solved.
Tested today, works perfectly!
Problem solved
If you can’ t find one, just make it by yourself: self made 9.5 male spade connector:
Fits perfectly!
