Apologies as this is my 1st post but i was directed here by another Lotus owner who advised me this one of the forums worth advertising my Exige on to try to find a genuine buyer.
Sadly the time has come to put my baby up for a very reluctant sale - however needs must
After putting it up for sale a few weeks ago, I was hoping that i could keep hold of the car, but after much consideration, the sensible side of me has decided that, sadly, the car really needs to be sold
A change in job leaves me using a company car/van on a daily basis meaning the Exige is now rarely used more than once every other week and as i already have a heavily modified custom spec Focus RS sat in my garage which is also rarely used, it seems pointless to have 2 cars sat doing nothing.
Full details of my car are on Pistonheads via the link below.
No i can’t part with the FRS - besides it’s all fully paid for, etc and after what i’ve spent on it over the years i couldn’t part with it
Also with the exige still having finance on it, as much as i love the car sadly the Exige is the car that has to be sacrificed. Once the finance is paid off & car sold there will still be a fair amount of to go back in the bank & i’ll be able to finalise a mortgage without having any other outstanding finances in my name
Believe me i’d love to keep the exige as well but it’s time to be sensible
Well it’s now sold Although at least it’s gone back to a good home in the shape of Bell & Colvill, who i originally bought the car through back in '07, & Jamie there has assured me he will find a good home for my baby
Felt very sad handing the keys & paperwork over late this afternoon but you know i’ve felt very priveledged to own such a fantastic drivers car for the last 2+ years and have really enjoyed every moment in the car.
Hopefully a few years down the line i’ll be able to get back into the drivers seat of another Lotus in some shape or form
Glad you got sorted and nothing drives better than an Exige, not even a RS,or at least mine doesn’t
I’m half heartedly trying to sell mine due to the same reasons as you but I want to keep it aswell.
I’m donotdelete on RSOC [/quote]
Hiya mate
I agree - as much as i love my FRS (and even with it running KW V3 coilovers on a decent setup) handling wise it still doesnt get anywhere near to that of the Exige’s setup - although i’m sure if i said that on the RSOC i’d get slated by the other FRS owners :lmao:
Still seems weird looking out the window and seeing that the car is no longer on the drive But i guess the good news is that now the car finance is cleared, Abbey have now approved my mortgage and i’ll finally own my own property rather than renting
