Are the S2 Exige wheel considered soft? Anyone had issues?
These…
Well I have two bent ones.
RHF and RHR so kerb use on circuit will be the cause.
It nothing that rules out using the wheel but I wondered if anyone has experienced it. My guess it is common but people don’t realise they have it.
One of my rears has a slight buckle in it which Nick Whales showed me when they were fitting new tyres. I have never kerbed the wheels on the road. I’ve owned the car since it had 500 miles on it so it was either damaged in that first 500 miles or on the track.
Harvey.
I drive too carefully and too slowly and too sensibly, so can’t comment.
Is this a repeat of the RS4 wheel syndrome
I’ve seen 2 240R front wheels “not exactly round” from the factory
LOL at Pete,
I was just going to say your about 8 or 9 years behind Damon and on the wrong forum…
One of my sets the front has a slight deviation of about 1.5-2mm on the inner rim,
balances out no probs though mind so not replaced it.
Yes I remember the RS4 days.
My balance out too so no great concern. I just wanted to understand if common.
I think it is more common than people realise because it balances out and your average tyre monkey doesn’t care enough to tell you.
Ive bent and destroyed numerous wheels over the years. It doesnt really matter what type of car or what type of wheel it is - alloy or steel, if you hit a big enough pothole/kerb the wrong way you’ll either put a dink in the rim or bend them truely oblong…Obviously big heavy cars with huge rims and l/profile tyres are going to suffer more.
