Was lucky enough to get the option to test drive this today. All I can say is what a car, what a car… I couldn’t believe how direct and communicative it was for a 4WD, and the performance is just mega. Outstanding.
However the main thing that I came away with was OMG what an absolutely immense engine note. In sport mode its truly fantastic. I couldn’t possibly do it justice in words. You don’t need to drive it fast to have an absolutely massive grin.
Genuinely the most excited I’ve been about testing a car in ages.
Now wonder what the going rate for a slightly aged and weary kidney is
An SVJ was parked up in Peuto Banus Sunday. Some silly bitch let her two brats step on the splitter and climb the bonnet for photographs. I couldn’t believe my eyes!
Was invited to Millbrook proving ground yesterday to have another run out in the Huracan, this time in the new Evo.
Chance to drive the alpine circuit, the high speed bowl, and have a few runs up the mile straight.
OMG, it was awesome on the road, but once you can really go for it the performance it on a completely different level from any other car I’ve previously driven. From a standing start I managed to see 186 mph on the straight. Could have been nearer 190 but once you are at that speed didn’t want to take any risks with the braking point. Up to about 120/130 it’s just mental. Does low 10’s for the quarter mile.
In the high speed bowl we were limited to 130, so used the chance to do a few pulls from about 80 through to 130. It would take a long time before I’d tire of that.
On the alpine circuit in Sport or Corsa mode, then oh that noise, amazing both up and down the box.
I could easily get tempted into a mid life crisis. Guess that’s why I was invited
That’s amazing. The Alpine circuit does not take prisoners if you get it wrong. Is my memory correct (often fails), there is a bit where you get airborne?

Yes although I kept all 4 wheels on the tarmac. They filmed some of the bond car chases there as well.
Me and Jacqui got invited by Alfa to drive the 4c there, we did similar on the bowl, alpine course and mile straight
Was an amazing day and the 4c was way better than I thought it would be, to buy one at the time meant selling the Exige and I wasn’t quite there to do that, plus you need a really wide garage for a 4c
One of my friends dad’s bought one, he stopped using it due to illness and struggled to sell it for what was the “current asking price”. I seriously low balled him (£10k off) to try and buy it, but he turned me down as he didn’t need the money, it took him another 6 months to sell it, a year in total! But he got close to his asking price in the end.
Other than his I’ve only seen two others, one was at last years Warren Classic
