slicks for S1 exige

Hi all.
I need to get some slicks 16" and 17" for sprint racing (approx 15 laps).Anyone got any recommendations of what to use and where to get them new or part used.
Cheers Mark

Think he stocks Avons in the right size. Yokohamas too I think.

BMTR, they sometimes have second hand ones with plenty of life left in them.

Mark,

I have about 4 car sets of the Yoko A005 slicks, specifically designed for the Exige. They are all part worn, but have loads of meat left on them. I don’t need them anymore as the MES doesn’t allow them. If your interested let me know and I am sure we can come to some sort of deal on them.

Sean…

Thanks for advice so far.

Hi Mark, For some reason you PM did not reach me. Feel free to give me a call if you like. 07967 662294

Sean, how do they compare to 48’s
do they last longer than 48’s on trackdays?

Once warm they do give more grip than 48’s and they don’t overheat and go off like a hard driven 48 can.

I only did a couple of track days with them, because as soon as I decided I was going to do the MES I stuck to 48’s as you obviously can’t use slicks in the MES

Sean…

is it not worth using them for trackdays, so you don’t go through shed loads of 48’s?

I use 48’s for track days as I am constantly messing with the setup so I get used to the 48’s and the best out of the car for when I start racing. All of that work would be useless if I did track days on the slicks.

I think I read somewhere that one or more of the trackday companies will only let you use slicks if you have a full roll cage.
