Single DIN sat nav, bluetooth, CD, Tuner, Ipod

Hi Guys,

Can anyone recomend a single DIN unit to fit in my S2 Exige that will do the following:

Sat Nav with post codes
Bluetooth connection to my phone
Single CD
Radio
I-pod control

I have had a look and can’t really find exactly what I am after, but don’t really know where to look as I am not really into car stereo’s.

I found one that had a screen that came out of it, but didn’t know if it would work as the top of the dash over hangs where the radio goes by quite a bit.

Ta,

Sean…

hi i have one of theses (IVA-D106R 7 inch widescreen monitor, DVD / CD / MP3, iPod re) in my exige s2 and it did go in fine but i had to make a spacer out of mdf and spray it black but because the centre is matt black too, it looks like part of the car. the sat nav is an add on and think so is the bluetooth.
i have had many of these flip out headunits from all sorts of brands like Clarion and Pioneer but they just dont last as the motors seem to go in them.
i have had this alpine head unit for 28 months now and have never had a problem.
well recormend as they have droped the price of it now.

Do you have a pic of your installation?

I face the same problem at the moment. I want to use the small monitor for a rear view camera as well.

Regards

Q.

You use the stereo?? Rear view camera??

Get yourself an Audi

I rarely have the stereo on, and I use a Tom Tom - simple!

I think one of the Blaupunkt range do what you’re after bit I can’t remember which.

MarkY,

I drive a Lotus Exige, Caterham R400 and my Exige 240CUP (all original RHD cars) mainly on continental roads and my Landrover Discovery 3 daily.
I don’t now if you ever came from your eiland but you will not see a dam thing from the rear to the left hand rear corner in a RHD Exige!

So never ever bore me with German cars… and come with real solutions.

I’ve driven on the continent, yes. Didn’t find it too bad a problem. There is a big blind spot, but I just accelarate into the gap when changing lane to make sure there is nothing beside me.

Maybe you didn’t catch the humour in my post, but it was meant as a bit of a joke

Marky,

German cars just make me
O.K. some are well build but the people who make them…

If you go to Hethel next weekend we just drink a beer to forget

I have sorted out a kenwood unit that does everything i want. Plus you can configure the screen to sit out as far as you like, so no spacer plate is needed.

The Satnav looks ace, with all of the functions and look and feel of a tom tom. It also has a freeview tv tuner, dvd player, reverse camera, blue tooth, USB input and Ipod control aswell as radio and single CD.

Plus it comes with a remote control, so i don’t have to stretch!!

And before everyone starts off on the “how much does it weigh” this is my everyday road car. But in case you do really really want to know, i think all of the components add up to 8kg’s
