So, around 1200 for an official Lotus upgrade to 240… and the torque is not so much optimized as they do in the Gotham upgrade, so it seems that Sinclaire is the best way to go…
Trouble is Fred … human nature dictates that we always want more !!
I think that as a starting point , the car they produce is a fairly nice balance between keeping their accountants happy and whetting the appetites of the “go faster brigade”
Yes us !!
I agree with you But… there is always a but… I am still amazed to see how they sell their cars upgraded or not…
If I am not wrong and we are not talking here of going over the 280HP, we need 2 things to get more HP from the beast:
remap the ECU
improve the intercooler (or change it to an air/water) - so here we don’t want more, we just want more reliability at all weather conditions
The others elements are required if you start riding hard on track… (yes I know someone will shout: "why for the hell do you need so much HP )
So
Between
giving to Sinclaire or Komoto-tec and having something really clean and well build
or
giving to Lotus and having another “Starting-closed” box… that will open the throttle by steps in place of opening it as the last version that will come in XX months.
I think they make the choice easier.
Besides the upgrades, we still have a lot of “twilight zones”:
why Lotus offers a warranty on the rust/corrosion (wishbones etc) for the US market and not for us? I know the answer (it’s like the cup holder )
I am also confused by what happens here in Europe these last days… people are ordering (as the burns out) LHD cars to UK Lotus dealers or directly to Lotus in UK at crazy prices and it will kill part of the selling of European lotus dealers (who apparently don’t react at all) and the used cars market… We add to this the massive importation of RHD in the european countries…
Anyway, good to know that we have people here that have upgraded their car at Sinclaire and that it seems a good deal.
