I’ve never driven Silverstone - no desire cos it’s flat, & is always (or tends to be!) friggin expensive, & I could do any two of Oulton/Donny/Cadwell/Anglesey for the same dosh. Just my personal preferences, & am glad that lots of peeps love it, so no problem, matey.

Cost for the day was as follows

�199 for the trackday
�70 for the insurance
�130 in fuel
�50 for drinks & food
�20 for pictures
�300 for new rear tyres (were down to 2mm anyway)

So really cheap day !!!

Can’t do the 6th - Wife got me tickets for the Eagles on Saturday night !!!

My next day is 11th at Anglesey & then Silverstone on the 13th May.

How did the stripes go ? - got any pictures ?

My comment was about the “booking cost”, not about the other costs (which I am also all too familiar with!)

I appreciate that �199 was actually “cheap” for a trackday on any major circuit, let alone Silverstone, in this day & age. Traditionally, a Silverstone day has cost at least double that for anywhere else (eg 4 or 5 years ago it would cost �275 to �350 depending on date) - purely down to the Circuit’s charges, of course.

At some stage, I may well do a day there…but I’ve no plans/intentions to do so in the foreseeable future.

For goodness sake stop posting the “Actual” costs??
“She that must be obayed” will insist on ANOTHER handbag if she finds out. …BUT her Mini Cooper tyres cost more than a set of 048…but dont talk about the wear rate

Thanks for your help Chris, I had the phone call 1830 tonight saying it’s ready ! So will collect tomorrow and take for it’s shake down service after Silverstone and for the fitting of it’s new AR bar I’ll pm some pics in the next few days BUT a chap I know has asked if he can shoot a number of moody (aka Pesky type) shots which I’ll post when done

Shame about Rocky mate, never mind though will prabably do Silverstone in May then, who’s it with, BAT?

Rob mate, who was it who said the Exige was wasted at Silverstone, said it was too fast for the car or something… The Hanger Straight ok it’s not at it’s quickest I only got 120mph and Chris just over in his 240 Cup but everywhere else we were great. Chris with his extra bits and bobs was bl**dy excellent, you would of had a ball mate in yours! The only real threat came in the way of those “pesky” Clio Cups…this time on slicks! Was a good day and at �199 including garage isn’t to be sniffed at Anyway its not totally flat, Bridge is a downhill right hander

All depends on that roof…wifes put the stops on anymore modifications for now…something about loft extension and a new booming kitchen!
