Just checked my car over for tomorrow at Silverstone - I know I should have done it last weekend - and found that I need a new set of front Pagid RS14 brake pads.
Does anyone have a set they can bring to Silverstone tomorrow and I will either give them the cash or ring Geary and have a replacement set delivered to them?
Alternatively, does anyone know if Sinclaires carry the Pagids? I know they carry EBCs but would prefer to stay with Pagids…
Anyone just going…??? Went earlier in the year and it was the most fantastic trackday I have ever done…full GP circuit just has to be seen to be believed and with so much run off nearly everywhere it must also be one of the fastest AND safest circuts…anyone local pop along and say hello…
Luckily Sinclaires did carry the RS14’s and as i was in the 2nd session they managed to change them without me loosing any track time at all.
Although i didnt really need them in the afternoon as it poured with rain - do you know how slippy that makes the marble floored garage! - quite a sensation doing 110 down Hangar Straight and feeling the car lift on the standing water…and then nearly spinning into the wall on the exit from Bridge…
Still the best track in the UK even in the wet…and dispite all the weather we never lost a single session to a red flag until open pit lane late in the afternoon.
Sorry to thick (& aged!), but do you mean that for 170 (or whatever deal you can arrange) we would get a 20 min slot in every hour i.e. 6 or 7 20 min sessions in the day?
Sorry, wasn’t clear, no. The current deal we have with OnTrack gives us [color:“red”]TWO 20 minute sessions[/color] in the hour (ie. about 4 hours of track time in the day) at all circuits except Brands (too popular, only one 20min sess there), all for 170 per day.
I do a few of those and join you lot on the odd BookaTrack day. The guy that runs our syndicate has apparently spoken to Jonny but I don’t know if he’ll end up switching. He’d happily add some more Exigers if your interested, or we could just go for a number of slots for particular day(s) at a circuit like Silverstone.

Ian
I’m not sure when Ian’s doing the next round of syndicate negotiations, probably some time in Q1. OnTrack even put some Open Pitlane dates together in the second half of this year for the same price. I’ll let you know about next year but will at least try and sort out a Silverstone day for a bunch of us. I think Simon was interested too, as he’s a little wiery of tracks but fancied Silverstone and being lead around in the first beginners session by a pace car.
Thruxton is my closest circuit! HOWEVER, it has a general noise limit of 89dB!!! The Ian Taylor Motor Racing School use most of the dates too.
It’s the quickest circuit in the country but probbaly not the most intereting. The complex is fun, with several different lines.
Other than the syndicate method, SELOC seems to be a cheap method of trackdaying. Anybody been on a day? Although for general trackdays I think BookaTrack offer pretty good value.
I’ve been on several SELOC days now and they have all been good events - especially when enough people have booked to get SELOC only sessions the driving has been of an exemplary standard and very courteous…highly recommended
