Just booked this day, is anyone else on here doing it
Yep.
I was hoping to get on that one last week, but it was all sold out. There is another in June or July I think. If you can let me know what the track is like, it will be appreciated.
Mr Bean I love your car by the way, hopefully see you there.
No worries will do a little report on the track, I’m excited now first time on track in the new car
That will be great… You will have a blast
I’m booked in for this one as well! First time on a track for me, i hope i’m not the only newbie there!
Looking forward to it though!
will see you there then Mike
Glad to see you all there.
So, what the new ‘Stowe’ circuit like then guys???
Bit like Abbeville but much wider, not a lot of grip on some of the high G bends but very challenging to drive on. I had a fuel surge once running at 1/4 tank. Also its pretty thirsty on fuel and tyres because of the 2nd & 3rd gear hairpins/chicanes and slow bends.
Its a very good circuit to learn on and be safe. I managed to do a pretty big drift/tank slapper/save/lost it/save/lost it/spin on the high speed chicane.
Well worth 120 IMHO.
Hi Blacktoy
I witnessed your lost/save/lost/save/lost/save/lost
I thought you had saved it at one point then you pirouetted 180deg, you did pass me a number of times during the day though. I didn’t realise you were there or I’d have said hello. Your car is seriously quick though what is it putting out?
In terms of the circuit I agree with Black it is quite like Abbeville but I’d say the surface has more grip, but there is one very bumpy braking zone at the end of the main straight, but overall a nice fun little track
It’s a standard Katana install with K&N induction & custom map. I was actually surprised how quick it was myself. On the straight it comfortable sailed past an Exige 240S and was keeping with some of the charge cooled Katana’s as well (which I wasn’t expecting). Someone said the the throttle response on my car was a lot better than some Exige S they’d driven in the past.
Crickie I’ll be going down the Katana route when I want some more power
I really enjoyed my first track day experience, obviously a little nervous at first, thinking I would be holding everybody up but i needn’t have worried!
Obviously I can not compare it to any other tracks but as a newbie I can recommend it was really worth the experience plus the LOT are a great bunch as were all of the other members taking part. Can’t credit them enough.
Tutorial was well worth it to make sure I was following the right lines although I had trouble hearing the trainer as soon as i hit 6k!
But all in all brilliant brilliant BRILLIANT fun!! I certainly see my car in a whole new light & certainly no longer feel the need to supercharge it (just yet!)
