Actually I was meant to be at Oulton today but I swapped it out for Donny on Friday, did the weather hold up?
I may not have a car but was planning to pop in for a couple of hours to say hello…until I looked at my diary and found I was back-to-back all day 
Sorry to say I’ve had to cancel this one …
Owens found my brand new turbo has a distorted bearing housing which was why we had an oil leak so currently being rebuilt …

Jonnyfox - Oulton was class, turned up at 10, no rain all day. It was only my second time there, i’m used to turning up at donny or bedford and getting to 9/10ths in a session or two so i’d expected to be all over oulton. I should have had more respect for the circuit lol, not knowing the line and having forgotten how massively technical it is it took me all day to get to maybe 8/10ths, the chicanes and slower speed stuff i had pretty nailed but with the higher speeds ballsy corners where you need to go full throttle over some rise and round a bend there’s quite a bit more i should be extracting from the car.
I was going up by myself so i booked 6 sessions of instruction which worked out well. Only slight downer was 80% of the paddock were race prep’d caterhams testing for the weekend.
Yea couldn’t focus on work yesterday, I’ve only had one 20 min session uninterrupted on track since August 2012 and looking like it was dry I was a bit gutted. I’ve moved to Donny as I’m trying to find an oil leak, its closer to home but I know what you mean about Donny, its our local after all So depending on Friday hopefully I’ll be at Silverstone Monday. Only been twice, one dry and one wet with instruction all day so can’t see me up to speed that quickly, still be good to meet up. I’ll hopefully sort a garage, will let you know

Oh dear what happened? I now can’t make Silverstone either, my trackdays this year just seem not to have happened
Mystery oil leak. Drips on the under tray when I got there, quite a spray after the first session and a larger enough increase including a smoking manifold had me home by 1pm. Shakedowns are expensive man! Lots of race cars…how does it compute to have your engine blow at Regate then drop oil all the way to Shwartz! Lol not me OBVIOUSLY 
Still a chap called John who lives local and reads exiges came down to have a look and say hello, that sort of thing was enough to make my day Thanks John top man

I’ve had some avons arrive in the post so hopefully it’ll be dry and I can see what these things are all about

freezing cold, the Avons barely got warm
