SIlence of the Clams

Hell-o.I’ve recently noticed an increasing vibratory sound, and with a bit of investigating have concluded its source as the vicinity of the rear clamshell. I am currently making do with a sticky bun as a shim until the problem is rectified.Anyone else have this problem?

My car developed the same annoying problem, after covering about 30K miles in the first 6 weeks of ownership. Both the dealer & the Lotus factory technicians were useless when asked to even diagnose the problem, let alone provide a solution. Anyway, after much experimentation, such as trying sticky buns (including those with currants), I discovered the culprit! It was quite simple really - just my modified sub-woofer “vibrating” against the spare wheel! The “fix” was to place my tennis bag between the wheel & the sub-woofer, & I’ve not had the problem recur since!Hope this helps.PS If you wrap the sticky bun in cling film, you can eat it, rather than throw it away once you find the actual cause of your car’s problem [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]PPS Have you heard anything recently from your cousin, Exiger?
