I dont know about anyone else, but i think the standard s2 numberplate looks terrible. I am looking to change mine for a smaller one, but was just wondering if anyone else has done it. I m not asking for a legal plate…just a “showplate” . There is the 3/4 size plate 390mm by 84mm which im sure would look alot neater than the original (520 by 112mm) so if anyones got any pics of their front plates for some ideas would be much appreciated!
cheers!
There was a thread over at SELOC where someone had been nicked by plod for having a 3/4 size plate.
I agree, it looks crap !

Didn’t last long does looked crap indeed…oh and the strips are photo shop, didn’t actually go there!
What you think looks crap guys? the standard plate or smaller?
Jon…is that 3/4 size?
They mean the standard plate looks crap.
This might help you.
imho the ‘normal size’ plate looks ‘crap’…
Jonnies’s looks abit smaller than 3/4 size (oohh’ err missus !)
I want to the special import sized lettering that is of legal (on imported cars) but can’t find anywhere that does front oblong plates, I think that would work well and you can argue that it is kind of legal… mine won’t as my spacing is not quite legal anyway…

Try these ade, i think thats what your on about…
Theres also a nice smaller option, and thats a small motorbike plate which is 288mm by 50mm high, but you might get pulled over a bit “too” often with that
Thanks still not quite what I’m after, I am going to measure the plinth and work out what size it needs to be, with the front of the car being quite small I might just get away with it
I’ve had a 3/4 plate from day 1 with no problems
Instead of the illegal 3/4 plate I had one made up with the legal font and spacing but just trimmed back in size. So its exactly the same width as the plinth, and the minimum height with the standard font. Huge improvement. 470mmx96mm from www.gtgrafix.com I just emailed them with the exact size I wanted and it came through in a couple of days.
evo-ufo…i was going to take my numberplate into work and use the jigsaw, which will do the trick. But the 3/4 plates are a bit smaller, and almost fit the plynth perfectly aswell. so im in 2minds…

Almost and perfectly aren’t the same
I’ve never liked the plinth so didn’t want to make a feature of it with a plate that didn’t cover it. Plus you have the added bonus of not being illegal. If you have access to a jigsaw at work I’d go down that route.
Here is mine.

and that’s where it stays!
Hi TonyK
Nice plate - Just been to the site. One question ?
How did you pay ?
Reason I ask is I got to the payment screen and noticed that the page is not secure - no padlock etc.
Pretty sure I paid online. Can’t remember TBH but I’ve used them a couple of times without issue.
