I’m thinking of changing my S1 Exige for a new Exige S. Should I spec the new car with a LSD or is it pointless as the demo car seemed to have excellent traction?
depends how you want to use the car.
Mine has really good traction in the wet with the lsd, it amazes me, it can put full power down in second in the wet, which is something my std s1 with 100hp less could not do.
They are reputed to cause some understeer, which my car had on std geo, but with my new neg camber settings its very impressive.
I would get it again, especially as i intend to upgrade the power in trhe future and i think it becomes more necessary as the power goes up.
They only thing i would say is when the back breaks away (with TC off) it breaks away all in one go, and you need to be ready and quick.
I will be using the car for 99.9% of the time on the road. I do intend on upping the power later. If it makes the car under steer I probably will leave that option alone. Not keen on altering the suspension setup as that felt perfect on the road compared to the S1. Thanks for the advice.
I think taking the LSD is a bad idea- you will not be able to make sensible decisions as to which modifications to buy when you’ve got mind-bending drugs inside you!!
O no man, its too late Ive gone for autumn gold!
