Has anyone had any experience with any of those short term day/week insurances?
I ask because I want to mot my car and give it a good shakedown run to check all is well before committing to a full year policy incase ive got further work to do…
cheapest option is to insure with a normal insurer and cancel within 14 days, from memory flux charge
annual insurance * days used /365 +£40 admin fee, so fk all really
Well … good job I didn’t insure it for a year .
Just refitted ohlins and noticed the rad is now leaking …
Now its a lovely clam removal exercise to investigate.

FWIW I dont think the day insurers will cover a high end car

Probably not, I’ve heard that they don’t like people with their original hair… 
I was given a quote to add a driver to my policy for 3 days (minimum period) and the insurer wanted £57 
Needless to say i didn’t bother.
Always found LV= very good. Often put the eldest on the Audi TT policy for about £12 quid for a few days. Maximum number of days allowed per year, though.
