Oh god no, please make that vision go away :astonished:

i’m gone! :frowning: its winter and i have done nothing but work. Hopefully get chance to think about the car again soon.

Did you buy the brakes then mate!

Not even had chance to think about it mate, just cant make up my mind if I should go 295 or 308?
Is it correct the AP and Alcon disks last longer than EBC’s and the standard stuff?

Boothy

Some one else changing theire brakes

A good question and one I am still trying to get to the bottom of, from what I gather 308’s would give greater torque than a 295 and a 295 greater than the standard 288’s. I am not sure how much better than standard they would be though or if a full new set of pads would make the biggest difference.
The other thing is I have herd people say the AP’s last a lot longer than stock so are worth the extra money but some people seem to rubbish that. Its quite confusing.
The 308’s and 295’s are alot of money but I don’t mind paying if I get an improvement and also if they last better than the 14k my stock front disks have managed.
The other thing for me is that I spent the cash on the 260 upgrade and Lotus will not sell a factory car at 260 without the upgraded brakes so I am thinking it must be an idea to improve my cars stopping power.
Since fitting the 260 I boiled my fluid and then got some pretty bad brake fade on my last td, oh and killed my front disks.

get the 308mm decent pads and RBF600 fluid, you can add the calipers later if you feel the need, or buy the set Junks has for sale  http://www.exiges.com/ubbz/ubbz/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=143417#Post143417

Boothy! Come on!!!

Getting bigger brakes is a no brainer for a 260Bhp car like yours. The 308’s should last for ages… the Alcon ones are top quality products too!

Never boiled my fluid… I too have R600+ that is just excellent.

You need something to do this winter eh!

The AP disks didn’t last any longer than STD for me. Can’t justify the extra price that way. You’ve got to be in it for and extra stopping power. Alternatively think how many sets of STD disks you get for the same money.

Lol my front AP groved discs lasted 18 months  …the same as my rear drilled oems. PF pads and SRF, strong package in the dry mate but a little tricky in the wet with the bite from the front :frowning:

Pete’s bang on buddy just do it…and Jeol, funny lol
