SEXIGE working... kinda

Well, the car’s been largely finished and has been out for a couple of times on track now. We’re still working out the teething problems on the car, but it’s a LOT of fun to drive and for a dirty old Rover K, seems to do the business since it turns faster laptimes than any of the Honda-powered cars can lay claim to at the moment. In fact the only Lotus I know of that’s gone faster is a very well-driven supercharged 2-11, and only then when it’s been driven by some pretty handy international level race drivers.

So while I’ve got the car in bits again trying to sort out what appears to be a failing clutch centre plate, enjoy this video I got of my last session on track

Cool video

On the clutch front, we had similar problems with the AP centre failing when racing. Ended up using the AP pressure plate and bearing, but using a Helix centre plate. Annoyingly, sometimes these are perfect for everyday use, sometimes a little harsh, so can be a bit of a lottery.

Hey George, that’s great! I hope you get some reliable use out of it soon, she’s a cracker!

Listening to your performance is making me miss mine being on the road…I’m fitting Jenvey’s atm, fed up of poor idle and reliability of the Titan’s.

All the best,
Kurt

It’s funny, my Titans have been just fine… with correct cam timing and a MoTeC controlling it all, the idle with even the huge 1444s is smooth as anything

Looking good - Do you know what sort of bhp she’s producing George ?

Love the sound of a well sorted K series :sunglasses:

Yes mate, I borrowed a set off SimonE and they were sweet, mine are cack!

Somewhere in the region of 215bhp at the moment, although there’s a little more to come with more revs and a better tune. But it’s quick enough at the moment and I’m having fun using it as-is for now
