I was thinking the other day (as my s is ready for a service) about oil changes.
Now the exige s has oil coolers that are not drained during an oil change so your left with some old oil in them.
This isnt to much of a problem, but then i realised that the garage i used put oil cleaner in it.
Now surely this is bad, old oil and oil cleaner left in!
Does anyone know a lotus garage in the midlands that drain off the oil coolers during oil change.
Any advice?
Doesn’t sound too good. Can’t help you with a garage in the midlands, but the Lotus service manual gives the procedure for draining the oil cooler circuit, so any Lotus dealer should be able to do it. Personally I would do it myself to ensure it was done properly - doesn’t sound too hard, and it would be all too easy for a garage to make a half arsed job without you knowing.
