Series 1 Lotus Exige – Honda K20a2 £24,000 ono

After my last S1 Honda Exige was written off by a third party failing to stop at a red light I bought this car in Oct 2007. The intention was to replace the previous car and its taken me the last 18 months to complete it. Unfortunately an opportunity to get a great new house has arisen and due to my lack of preparation the Exige has to go to help fund the house deposit.

I bought the car and stripped out the air conditioning, interior and put in a new wide alloy radiator. Once it was cleaned down I passed it to Sinclaire Motorsport (Lotus Bodywork and Honda conversion specialists in Romford) for a full respray and Honda K20a2 (UK spec engine) conversion. This was completed around May 2008 and I used the car for a trip to Le Mans and a short trip round Europe but little else last year as I got the interior and electronics installed. In Oct 2008 the car was completed with Nitron Racing Suspension and geo set up at Sinclaire. This year I had days training with Andy Walsh, and my first track day with it at the Exiges day over in Anglesea. It seems my plan of a year of UK trackdays will be cut short at that.

Ive got a mass of paperwork covering my and previous ownership. Its got a deal of previous history although in my ownership most of the car has been rebuilt to get to the current spec. Its got 12 months MOT and road tax to Feb 10.

Power Train:
16,000 mile Honda K20a2 fitted by Sinclaire motorsport 201 ATW on TDis Dyno
Custom rolling road map by Dan from Sinclaires on Shell V-power
KPro ECU with datalogging and launch control. Full accessible via USB link
Motul Power 300V oil (last change May 2009)
2bular 4-2-1 downpipe
2bular single exit back box
Chassis heat shield kit
Elise-shop high pressure fuel pump
43mm Aluminium twin fan rad (with manual override)

All the spec is ready for a supercharger. I wanted some use at NA before I increased the power but the Engine (UK lower compression), exhaust, fuel pump, ECU are all specified so the charger can be added with a minimum work.

Brakes:
Two piece AP front Discs
Pagid RS 4-2 brake pads
Castrol SRF brake fluid

Suspension:
Elise parts uprated toe links
Nitron 1 way coilovers that have covered 2K miles
Eibach 400/475 Springs
340R geometry setting (a neutral setup)
New LTS AO48 rears (April 2009, less than 200 miles use)
Used (but good) LTS AO48 front about 3-4mm
Spare pair of used LTS AO48 fronts (about 3-4 mm) also included

Exterior:
Full (all shuts, sills etc. included) Satin Black respray by Sinclaire Motorsport, May 2008
Hurricane HID headlights
Hurricane HID driving lights
Lotus power front splitter
Lotus power four vane diffuser
Removable rear number plate with opened mount
S2 Wiper arm with mounted washer
Clear indicators

Interior:
Lotus motorsport seats
Lotus retrim (included alcantara covers for all door cards, dash inserts, coin trays, door pulls, centre tunnel and steering wheel pad and new sill pads).
Original Safety devices four point harnesses
Air-con removed (including all pneumatic valves, wiring, ducts and pipework bar the two that run down the drivers sill)
Standard heater and dash re-fit
B&M Quickshift with Honda Civic Type R aluminium gear knob
Tub interior stripped and cleaned, the car has never suffered from footwell corrosion
Defi-link display (oil, water and exhaust gas temps, intake manifold, oil and fuel pressures) Defi-link VSD. HUD with shift and sensor alarm warning lights
Tyresure Tyre pressure and temperature gauge
Pioneer X1 sat nav (with lateral and linear accelerometers)
Kenwood 12cm speakers
Red LED Stack, Heater and Light buttons illumination
Passenger footrest mounted fire extinguisher

Security:
Standard Exige Meta alarm with proximity sensor

Bad points:
The speed sensor feeding the ECU and Defi VSD had a weak connection and the signal kept dropping to 0. Although this didnt affect the Stack or odo (it runs from the original wheel sensor) the speed indicated on the VSD would fall and the launch control limit revs. This has been fixed by reseating the plug, but Ive not done enough miles to make sure its 100% ok.

The car has done about 7k miles since the conversion, but a failed Stack means that the odo reads 20K mile at the moment (its about 9K miles short of the actual mileage) and a temporary unit was in place so I could get it MOTed in March 2008.

Ive got receipts totalling over 35K. I really hadnt intended on selling this car

Ive posted some photo here.

Shame you have to sell :frowning:
Hope you get good money for it
